What to Include in an Annual History

The annual history provides an opportunity for leaders to reflect on their efforts to help individuals and families qualify for exaltation. These reports are an important part of the unit’s history. To facilitate the gathering of this information templets have been provided. Note: The answers to these questions constitute that quorum’s or auxiliary’s contribution to the annual history.

First-Person accounts from members

The annual history may also include significant first-person accounts from members who have experienced the hand of God in their lives. Stories about the manner of life, faith, and works of the members (see D&C 85:1–2) may be captured us­ing the, Individuals and Family Experiences template;

Significant records created by or about the unit

Consider including the following records:

  • Newsletters
  • Special programs and publications
  • Ward and Stake Conference
  • Stake Girls Camp
  • Church Events and Activities
  • Slide shows and other audiovisual productions (in hard copy or nonproprietary electronic formats such as PDF, JP2, J2K, JPG, TIF, WAV, MP3, AVI, or MOV).
  • Photocopies of newspaper clippings (include information that will identify the newspaper and the date it was published)
